 Informed Advocacy ___ Locate the name and address of your local representative (i.e., if from Texas, identify representatives from  Texas)  ___ Write one letter to either a member of the State House of Representatives or to the State Senate 

 Address importance of developmentally appropriate early childhood learning programs for your state. • Each letter should inform the office holder of the importance of developmentally  appropriate early childhood learning programs for young children in the state. The letter  should summarize the results of research finding that children in high-quality early 6 learning programs experience long-term gains in cognitive and academic achievement,  and in social skills.  • The letter should make a compelling argument for investing state and federal funding  for high-quality early learning programs for all children, regardless of family income or  family education. • The letter should be two pages in length.
